The Steadfast Quiet

Heavy silken flaps of water
gently winding over lakeshore grasses.
Steadfastly quiet as hermitage air
where the gently moving man in homespun
rings the shoreline of his faith
with almost silent interaction.
As the thrush's nest when night has mantled
and bright sparkled eye has lidded shut,
such peaceful and secure belonging
it easily shares with the sunset lake....
as it gently rubs its watery wing
upon the downy breast of Earth.
